Christian parents today face a daunting task: raising children to love and follow Jesus in a world that challenges their faith at every turn. From school curricula to digital media to peer pressure, today’s kids are constantly exposed to conflicting messages about identity, truth, and morality.

Proverbs 22:6 gives timeless guidance: “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old, they will not turn from it.” But this isn’t just about rules – it’s about discipleship. Children need to see faith lived out daily, not just talked about on Sundays.

We must teach our kids how to think biblically, not just what to think. That means having open conversations, even about difficult topics. It means showing them how Scripture speaks to real-life issues – technology, sexuality, justice, and relationships.

Modelling authentic faith is the key. When children see parents praying, serving, forgiving, and loving others, they learn what it means to follow Christ. Deuteronomy 6:6-7 tells us to impress God’s commands on our children by talking about them throughout daily life. Faith is not a compartment – it’s the foundation.

But we’re not alone in this. The church community plays a vital role in reinforcing these values. Youth leaders, teachers, and mentors can come alongside parents to disciple the next generation. And we must pray – fervently and often – for our children’s hearts and minds.

Yes, the world is confusing. But God is faithful. He equips parents with wisdom, grace, and strength to raise children who shine brightly in the darkness. Don’t underestimate the power of a home rooted in Christ.
