Compassion is at the very heart of who Jesus is. Throughout the Gospels, we see Him moved by the suffering of others, reaching out to the broken, the sick, and the outcast. As His followers, we are called to reflect that same compassion in our daily lives – not just in grand gestures, but in the small, intentional acts of love we show to those around us.

Colossians 3:12  “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.”

True compassion is not just feeling sympathy – it is love in action. It’s stepping into someone else’s pain, offering a listening ear, a helping hand, or a word of encouragement.

Jesus demonstrated this again and again. When He saw the crowds, He didn’t turn away:

Matthew 9:36  “He had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.”

His compassion led Him to heal, to teach, and ultimately to give His life for us. In a world that often feels cold and indifferent, we are called to be different.

1 John 3:18  “Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.”

When we cultivate a heart of compassion, we reflect Christ’s love and become a tangible expression of His grace to those in need.
