Many Christians think of ‘mission’ as something that happens overseas or through church programs. But Jesus sends all of us – wherever we are – to live as His witnesses.

Jesus said, “As the Father has sent me, I am sending you” (John 20:21). Every follower of Christ is sent. That means your workplace, neighbourhood, family, and friendships are your mission field.

Being on mission doesn’t require a title or a passport. It requires a willingness to live with purpose. Jesus described us as “the salt of the earth” and “the light of the world” (Matthew 5:13–14). That’s not just poetic – it’s practical.

Salt brings flavour and preserves. Light reveals and guides. Our lives should do the same. Through kindness, integrity, compassion, and bold faith, we help people see who God is.

Ask yourself:

  • Who in my life doesn’t yet know Jesus?
  • How can I reflect Christ at work or school?
  • Am I willing to speak about my faith when God opens the door?

You don’t need all the answers – just a willing heart. The Holy Spirit empowers you to be His witness (Acts 1:8). Start small. Pray for one person daily. Look for chances to serve. Share your story.

When we live sent, our ordinary days become eternal opportunities. Every interaction can be a seed planted. Every act of love can point someone to Jesus.

The mission isn’t reserved for a few – it’s the calling of every believer. You are sent. Today, right where you are.
