An old church stood in the heart of a small town, known for its beautiful stained-glass window above the altar. The window told the story of Jesus, with vibrant reds, blues, and golds shining brilliantly when the morning sun passed through.

One day, a terrible storm swept through the town. The winds howled, and hail stones struck the church, shattering parts of the precious stained-glass window. When the storm ended, the pastor and church members sadly picked up the broken pieces, unsure of how to restore what had been lost. A local artist heard about the damage and offered to help. Carefully, he gathered the broken shards, crafting a new design. When the church members saw his work, they gasped. The window was even more beautiful than before. The light shone through the cracks in ways it never had, casting new colours and patterns they had never seen.

God Uses Our Brokenness for His Glory

Like that window, we all experience brokenness – mistakes, failures, heartaches. Sometimes, we feel like the storm has shattered us beyond repair. But God, the Master Artist, takes our broken pieces and creates something more beautiful than before.
Psalm 34:18  “The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
God does not discard broken people. Instead, He redeems, restores, and uses them for His glory. The Apostle Paul understood this well when he wrote these words:

2 Corinthians 4:7   “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.”
Like a stained-glass window, we are fragile. We have cracks, weaknesses, and scars. But when God’s light shines through us, others don’t see the brokenness – they see His glory.

Maybe you feel like a broken window – shattered by life’s storms. But remember this: God is not finished with you. He is piecing together your story into something beautiful, something that will shine His light into the world. Trust Him with your broken pieces. Because in His hands, broken things become masterpieces.
