A young boy sat at the dining table, struggling with a large jigsaw puzzle. Frustration filled his face as he held a single piece in his hand, turning it over and over, unable to see where it fit.

“This piece doesn’t make sense!” he cried. “It doesn’t belong anywhere!”

His father smiled and gently took the box, showing him the picture on the cover. “Son, you’re only looking at one piece. You can’t see the full picture yet – but I can. Trust me, every piece has a purpose.”

With new confidence, the boy continued working. Slowly, piece by piece, the beautiful image came together.

So often in life, we feel like that little boy – holding a single puzzle piece, confused and frustrated. Maybe it’s a painful loss, an unanswered prayer, or a difficult season. We don’t understand why things are happening the way they are.

But while we see only one piece, God sees the whole picture.

Isaiah 55:8  “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.

Joseph experienced this in the Bible. Sold into slavery by his own brothers, falsely accused, and thrown into prison, he must have wondered how his painful experiences fit into God’s plan. But years later, when he was placed in a position of power in Egypt and saved many lives, he finally understood. He told his brothers, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good.” (Genesis 50:20)

The Bible reminds us that God is working all things together for our good, even when we don’t see it.

Romans 8:28  “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Even the painful and confusing pieces of our lives are part of God’s masterpiece. What seems like a mistake or a meaningless struggle today may one day reveal a beautiful part of His plan.

Right now, you may be holding a puzzle piece that doesn’t make sense. You might be questioning God’s plan. But remember – He sees the full picture, even when you can’t. Trust Him. Surrender every piece of your life to His hands. One day, you’ll look back and see how perfectly He placed every piece together to create something beautiful.
