What would happen if … we really believed that Jesus will never leave us or forsake us. (Hebrews 13:5)? Maybe we would stop praying that God would, “be with us” and accept that He is always with us. Maybe we would stop asking God to be with others when we intercede for them and just pray that they might know that He is already with them.
What would happen if … we really believed that it is God Who arranges the parts of the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:18) and that our Pastor, Elders, leaders and fellow worshippers in the local Church are placed there by God to speak into our lives? Maybe we would embrace the teaching from our own Church more than we do and stop looking everywhere else for God’s Word to us.
What would happen if … we really believed that “He that is in us is greater than he that is in the world.” (1 John 1:4)? Maybe we would stop living in fear of the enemy … stop looking for the work of Satan and start believing that Jesus has conquered the enemy once and for all time so that we can live in victory and safety every day.
What would happen if … we really believed that God’s will is the same for every single one of us – He wants us to be conformed to the image of His Son, Jesus (Romans 8:29)? Maybe we would stop asking God to show us His will in every other area of our lives and focus on submitting to His transforming work within us – knowing that all the rest will follow in God’s time.
What would happen if … we really believed that the Holy Spirit inspired what was left out of the Bible as well as what is included? Maybe then we would not get caught up in all the ‘end-times’ speculation about the antichrist, the mark of the beast, the time of the Lord’s second coming and the ministry of Satan – and focus on the mission of Christ.
What would happen if … we really believed that God has given us everything we need for a Godly life through our knowledge of Him Who called us by His own glory and goodness. (2 Peter 1:3)? Maybe then we would stop asking God for what is already ours and start trusting in what He has given us in Christ.
What would happen if … we really believed God?
