Romans 8:28  “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose”

There are a so many things we just don’t understand. We have no idea whether the economy will suffer or if our team will succeed. We have no idea what our partner is thinking or how our children will develop. Even “what we ought to pray” escapes us (Romans 8:26).

Paul says, however, that there are four things about which we are positively Paul says, however, that there are four things about which we are positively confident.

We know:

1. God works. He is engaged in secret activities both above and within the conflict. He hasn’t abandoned ship or left us. He works nonstop and never gets tired. He never takes a break.

2. God works for our good. Not for our convenience, enjoyment, or amusement, but rather for our highest good. What else would we expect from the Ultimate Good?

3. God works for the good of those who love Him. See the advantages of loving God! If you make His story your story, it will have a happy ending. That’s guaranteed. He incorporates a salvation theme throughout our biography since He is the author of our salvation.

4. God works in all things. The Greek word behind this phrase is Panta. Which is also the root of words like pandemic, panoramic and panacea. It means all-inclusive. God doesn’t work through a select few things, the best, the easiest, or even the good things. God is at work in ALL things.

You are not a puppet controlled by fate or fortune. A loving, living God is holding you in His hands. Your life is not a random assortment of unrelated short stories. Your life is a well created story created by a good God Who is always working for your ultimate good.
